Term 2 2015!

Nga Mihi Nui Kia Koutou,

Hi and welcome back for another fun filled term of learning!

Term 2 is eleven weeks long and is going to be another busy one.  Our last day of term is Friday 3rd of July.

This term our students are focusing on ANZAC for the first three weeks, in which we are also incorporating our school values.  The students will be using their research skills to look at different questions surrounding ‘ANZAC Day’, we will also be involved in planting our own Poppy seed for our school Poppy garden, and this we are also incorporating ‘writing an explanation’.  As part of our Math we will be learning about ‘Statistical Investigation’ alongside our basic facts and number knowledge strategy practice.

Home Learning will consist of spelling, math, and reading, and sometimes you will see some home learning surrounding our topic focus ‘Globalisation’, this is to be completed each night, and handed in to be marked each Friday.  Please support your child with their home learning, as this also has an impact and strong link between regular home reading as well as your child’s reading progress across all curriculum areas.

Kiwi Sport – Jim Larkin

Kiwi Sport continues this term each Monday. We will continue with big ball skills and team games.

Our regular PE activities continue with fitness on Tuesday and Thursday and PE on Wednesdays and Fridays.  Please ensure your child brings appropriate clothing to take part in sports and fitness each day.  If students cannot take part due to illness, they will need to bring a note to explain.

Mrs Radich

Mrs Radich will continue with Te Tinana every Thursday while I continue with assessments.

Mr Pirini

We welcome Mr Jonathan Pirini will continue with his expertise in music and physical education with Te Tinana students on Thursdays.
